Underscar website changes« Back to Questions List

Has anyone checked out the latest Underscar website changes as there appear to be many problems with it? The links under rentals appear to be all over the place so I wonder if Mr Norris could respond and identify who are responsible for these ongoing changes…. is it Sykes technical team or the original design team at Creation ADM? These are vital weeks to maximise staycations in the UK and provide income to UOCL ( for stock weeks) and individual owners wishing to rent , so it would be reassuring to know what exactly is happening behind the scenes to make this user friendly please. Also we noted that there is a problem with HOTL link to Underscar website as when you click on Holiday Cottages in Underscar NO Underscar properties are shown, only other properties in Keswick which means potential renters are being lost at this critical time. Please can these concerns be addressed as a matter of urgency. Thanks.

A simple calculation puts gross income per 2 bedroom apartment at £34,000 (excl. v.a.t)..Considering the fundamentals are to keep the place clean and change the laundry each week at say £10,000 per annum , it leaves a healthy contingency for other things. We need to get back to our roots.. pleasant accommodation and walks in the country. Other services should be self -financing.
After all how often is a new kitchen or bathroom or furniture required?

Why do molehills become Mountains, is it because we are in the Lake District? The Time Share proposition is simple enough. Buy your 60 years. Come , enjoy ,go. Change laundry, clean. Next to come, enjoy, go…and so on ad infinitum.
Why does it have to be so complicated. Too many cooks spoil the broth. Simplify. I am in a similar set up abroad and costs are a quarter of what they are at Underscar.

Mary
I am confused here I’m afraid..
The owners website upgrades should not delay the Underscar main website from being updated as otherwise the opportunity to maximise staycations rentals and sales will be lost!
The priority surely should be for main website upgrades to be completed for financial reasons and obvious benefits, and then the “ niceties” associated with this Owner’s website can be resolved afterwards.
I hope and trust that this is not being used as an excuse for speedy upgrades being completed on the main Underscar website which is in everyone’s interest and has been called for for years.
Perhaps I have misunderstood?
Best regards.

Work on the Underscar website is ongoing. The Board is aware that some UOCL members will be anxious to maximise opportunities for rentals and sales, but others will be keen to see an updated and relevant Owners’ Area. The Board will respond in full to questions raised before the AGM on 23rd May 2021, as explained in Ian Hedley’s email dated 30th April 2021, and in a question and answer session on the day.
