X the X of March- An Unforgettable Spring Dining Experience with Jack Bond

We are delighted to announce that Jack Bond, standout talent on BBC 2 Great British Menu, will be joining The Secret Table for 2026. As the current Head chef and owner of the Michelin-starred foraging Keswick restaurant Cottage in the Wood, Jack has experienced nothing short of exceptional success!

Jack’s journey began at just 15 years old, when a job as a kitchen porter sparked a fascination with flavour and technique. That early curiosity drove him into an extraordinary career, including time at Three-Michelin-Star Eleven Madison Park, work as a development chef for Gordon Ramsay, and roles alongside Marcus Wareing at both The Berkeley Hotel and The Gilbert Scott.

Within just one month of taking on Cottage in the Wood, Jack led the team to retain its Michelin star, and shortly afterwards earned an impressive three AA Rosettes- a remarkable achievement that firmly established his leadership and culinary vision.

Today, Jack leads Cottage in the Wood in the heart of the Lake District, crafting dishes inspired entirely by the landscape that surrounds him. His ethos is grounded in seasonality, environmental mindfulness, and a deep respect for every ingredient. His cooking is honest and minimalist, rooted in the purity of Lake District produce, and often transforms elements traditionally considered waste—turning sustainability itself into an art form.

Jack and his wife Beth were actually married in the Lake District, and Cottage in the Wood has always held a special place in their hearts. When the opportunity arose for them to take it on, it felt like fate. They leapt at the chance- something simply meant to be.
