Francesca Anderson is a passionate and highly respected wellness expert based in the Lake District, known for her holistic and heart-led approach to women’s health and wellbeing. With over a decade of experience in breathwork, mindfulness, and somatic practices, Francesca has helped hundreds of women reconnect with their bodies, calm their nervous systems, and find balance during life’s most transformative phases.
Specialising in perimenopause and menopause support, Francesca combines science-backed methods with deeply nurturing practices that empower women to better understand and work with their changing bodies. Her warm, accessible teaching style makes even complex topics feel practical and easy to integrate into everyday life.
Through her platform Wellness in the Lakes, she runs retreats, workshops, and one-to-one sessions focused on breathwork, stress resilience, hormone health, and emotional regulation. Her work is grounded in nature, compassion, and a belief that every woman deserves to feel strong, calm, and connected—no matter her age or stage.

Empower & Energise: A Wellness Day for Women

Join us at The Spa at Underscar for a much-anticipated wellness day designed to inspire, empower, and energise women during the transitional years of peri-menopause and menopause. This nurturing event is thoughtfully curated to provide practical tools, healing experiences, and expert insights to support your physical and emotional wellbeing.

Event Schedule
9:30am – Welcome & Refreshments
Ease into the day with a warm welcome and a selection of tea, coffee, or smoothies as you meet like-minded women in a calm and supportive environment.

10:00am – The Power of Breath
Francesca will lead a gentle introduction and demonstration on the importance of breathwork for both physical and emotional wellbeing. Discover how conscious breathing can ease symptoms such as anxiety, overwhelm, and hot flashes.

10:30am – Balancing the Negativity Bias
Explore how to use the five senses to naturally uplift mood and calm the ‘monkey mind’. Learn practical techniques to soothe stress, anxiety, and low mood—common challenges during midlife.

11:30am – Understanding Menopause & Sleep
We move indoors for a deeply insightful session on sleep disruption during menopause. Discover calming tools to ease night sweats, restlessness, and panic, and reclaim a better night’s rest.

12:00pm – Breath & Mindful Movement
Experience gentle breath-led movement designed to soothe the nervous system, activate the vagus nerve, and restore calm. This is accessible and supportive for all bodies.

12:30pm – Guided Meditation: The Body Scan
Sink into stillness with a nourishing guided body scan meditation to further relax and ground you before lunch.

1:00pm – Lunch & Learn with Will
Enjoy a short talk and live demonstrations on nutrition and its powerful role in supporting menopausal wellbeing. Learn why magnesium, potassium, protein, and balancing blood sugar are essential—and what to limit or avoid.
Followed by a delicious, nutritious lunch designed to support hormone balance and boost energy.

Afternoon Wellness & Indulgence
2:15pm – 5:30pm – Spa & Treatments
Spend a blissful afternoon enjoying full access to our luxury spa facilities including:
Heated pool
Jacuzzi
Sauna
Gym
Optional therapies and treatments can also be booked during this time (between 2:15pm – 4:45pm).
3:00pm – Nourishing Treats
Refresh with a selection of nutritious snacks, tray bakes, protein balls, and no-sugar treats—delicious and guilt-free.
