If you’re looking to enjoy Underscar during the tranquil months between late Autumn and early Spring, our Luxury Holiday Bonds offer two unique ways to experience everything Underscar has to offer.
Our Five-Year Fixed Bond might be the ideal choice if you want the comfort of knowing you’ll return to the same property each year, with no long-term obligations. It’s a way to experience Underscar without the lifetime commitment—just five years of cherished moments.
On the other hand, if you’re seeking variety and flexibility, the Five-Year Flexible Bond gives you the freedom to choose different properties each time you visit. It’s perfect for those who wish to experience Underscar while still enjoying the familiar comforts you’ve come to love.
Both options are crafted for those who appreciate the magic of Underscar but want the freedom to choose how and when to enjoy it. Whether you want to start a family tradition visiting your property or explore all that Underscar has to offer, without the extended commitment, these Luxury Holiday Bonds give you the best of both worlds.

FAQ's
When your bond term ends, your reserved holiday time at Underscar comes to a close. You won’t have any ongoing fees, and there’s no pressure to renew. If you are ready for more Lake District adventures, our friendly team can introduce you to exciting new holiday options.
You can book as soon as the Underscar Calendar is released, typically 12 months in advance. This allows ample time to reserve your ideal property and week from the available units. Early booking is recommended for popular periods to help secure your top choice.
Yes, as a Fixed Bond holder, you can arrange for your designated week to be rented out. If you’re unable to use your Bond Week, you can request that we make it available for rent. You will receive any rental income generated, minus our commission, but you remain responsible for paying the Management Fee eight weeks prior to your arrival date. Additionally, you are responsible for the rental guest’s utilities costs, up to a cap set by Underscar each year. For 2025, the cap is £80 for a 1-bedroom property, £90 for a 2-bedroom property, and £100 for a 3-bedroom property.
Share Underscar with your loved ones by letting them use your Bond Week. Simply inform us of the change in occupancy, and they’re set to enjoy the luxury cottages and incredible facilities. Please note you remain responsible for all fees.
You can pass your bond to someone else by arranging a transfer. They’ll step into a new agreement for your remaining weeks, and we’ll handle the paperwork for a small fee. Contact our team at Underscar, Applethwaite, Keswick, Cumbria, CA12 4PH, to guide you through the transfer process.
Your bond starts with a one-time payment for the bond itself, a £138 transfer fee. You pay an annual Management Fee to keep everything tip-top and a Utilities Fee for things like LPG and electricity after your stay. No surprises—just clear, upfront costs.
You can cancel within the 14-day Cancellation Period by writing to Underscar Sales, Underscar, Applethwaite, Keswick, Cumbria, CA12 4PH, with no cost. After this, termination requires four weeks’ notice and payment of two years’ Management Fee (or Default Management Fee for Flexible Bonds), plus administrative fees.
