We are delighted to share something truly exceptional with you- an incredible and rare opportunity to sample wine grown and bottled right here in the Lake District! Just a stone’s throw from your home away from home at Underscar, nestled on the south-west facing slopes of Skiddaw, lies England’s most northerly vineyard, Underscar Vineyard. This small specialised estate have handcrafted a sustainable and exclusive batch of red, rosé, and white wines– each one grown with care, bottled with pride and inspired by the spirit of the Lakes. Located where merchant William Oxley once walked, this vineyard sits as a nostalgic reminder of the manor and its’ heritage, something our owners will remember fondly.

This light rosé is delicate in hue and bold in attitude, providing a pleasant acidity. The perfect balance of lemon and green apple notes along with hint of light berries tempts the most curious of palettes and relaxed moments!

This dry white is fragrant and crisp with good, delicate acidity. With a fresh, distinctly English profile, the summer hedgerow notes of Elderflower, Citrus and Crisp apple make it a refreshing expression of cool climate England. Best enjoyed young for any occasion!

This rare northern red is unconventional, intriguing and very much of the lakes. With deep fruit notes of blackberry and raspberry, complemented by a hint of vanilla, this wine boasts a rich ruby colour and a well-balanced, low acidity. Definite oaky over tones and lingering flavours. To be enjoyed whilst young but improves over time!
