George Cherian and Meera George are back… and this time, they are bringing something truly special to The Secret Table.
Join George and Meera for an exclusive first look at their new restaurant Bagheera ahead of its opening on Station Street in July 2026. Hosting an official pre-launch event for a brand-new restaurant is something we could only have dreamed of 18 months ago, and we are delighted to be the place helping bring this exciting concept to life.
This special event offers a rare opportunity to sample the bold, vibrant flavours that will soon make Bagheera one of the most talked-about dining destinations in the Lake District. As its’ first restaurant solely dedicated to authentic South Indian street food, Bagheera promises a dining experience unlike anything else in the region – expect exciting flavours, colourful dishes and a true taste of South India.
Sharing the authentic flavours of South India with Cumbria has always been at the heart of George and Meera’s journey. Their Indian-themed dining nights at all their restaurants were popular sell-out events, giving locals and visitors the chance to experience something different. This passion led to the creation of the Bagheera South Indian Street Food stall at Keswick Market and now continues to thrive within their new restaurant, Bagheera.
Inspired by Bagheera, the Black Panther from Disney’s The Jungle Book, who guided Mowgli on his journey, their new restaurant is about more than serving food. George and Meera want to share a culture, a heritage and a love of hospitality with the local community.
Come and enjoy these vibrant regional classics at this official pre-launch event at The Bistro at Underscar, with arrival at 6:30 pm and dining at 7:00 pm.
